Step 1: Start With A Free Consultation

Requesting a free, in-person or phone consultation is the best way to get an accurate quote for your project.

During your consultation, we will:

  • Take photos and measurements
  • Discuss any ideas you have / brainstorm imagery together
  • Review your space’s current aesthetics and your desired "look" of the new work
  • Discuss your target price range and provide a rough cost estimate (final cost determined once design is finalized)
  • Decide whether you’d like to commission a design

Step 2: Design Proposal & Provide Quote

After our consultation, I will send you a contract and invoice for the design fee to kick off your custom design, as well as a ballpark quote for the cost of the entire project.

The mural design fee is a $500 non-refundable payment for your custom digital version of your artwork’s design concept and covers up to three rounds of edits. Additional rounds of edits are available for purchase or if you pay a 50% deposit for the full work.

I request 3-4 weeks to turn around a design concept, and then I will send the proposed design to you along with a digital rendering of what it will look like in your space. We will adjust the design until you're completely satisfied.

Step 3: We Will Schedule Your Project And Start Painting!

Once we have your design finalized, I will send a contract and invoice for a 50% deposit to schedule your project. The remaining 50% will be due upon project completion. I am available to paint during weekday early mornings or evenings, depending on your needs, as well as weekends. In short – we will decide on a schedule that is most convenient for you.

Please note: I am often booked several months in advance. I ask for your understanding and know that I am very excited to work with you!

Many factors inform the price of a mural. I charge between $100-$500 for an original design, this covers the time I spend working with you to create a digital rendition of your project. The the price of the final mural depends on size and complexity of our agreed upon design. For a rough ballpark, walls can range from $10-30/sq ft. so it really depends! I will request a 50% deposit to schedule your project and the final 50% when the project is completed.

Please reach out to me for a rough estimate, knowing the exact price of your mural will vary depending on the following factors:

  • Size of overall work
  • The highest point and location (Will I need to rent a lift or scaffolding to reach your project? Special scaffolding for a 100ft stairwell? )
  • Level of detail (More detailed work generally takes more time.)
  • Painting style (Certain styles require different techniques, time, and materials)
  • Materials (For example: authentic golf leaf is more expensive than gold acrylic paint!)
  • Travel or shipping costs (Am I driving to your location or shipping you a canvas roll?)
  • Prep work or repairs (Is the wall damaged and in need of repair?)
  • Protective coating (Outdoor murals might require a graffiti coating or high humidity indoor murals may require a clear coat.)

Please note that painted signage, wallpapers, backdrops, and other painting services are priced differently than murals. The best way to determine a ballpark cost is to schedule an in-person consultation or simply give me a call.

The timeframe for creating a mural varies depending on multiple factors, starting with how long it takes to finalize the design (I request around 3-4 weeks to turn around a design) and then frequently there are revisions to make sure the design is perfect for you and your space.

Once the design is finalized, the actual time required to paint the mural depends on the complexity of the design, wall texture, accessibility, etc.

Generally, for most of my moderately complex designs on a standard, non-damaged 11 x 9 ft wall, I can prime, transfer the design, paint, and be cleaned up with a project in 5-6 days. The amount of time it takes to complete a mural depends on the mural. I understand that having a timeline and schedule is important, so I will work with you to determine a timeframe that works best for you.

You may pay via check (my preference!), or via cash, and all major credit cards. I will send you a digital invoice along with any additional necessary payment details.

You bet your bottom dollar I am! I live in Minneapolis, MN and serve the Twin Cities metro and greater Minnesota on a regular basis, but I have also created works around the country, such as Alaska, and even overseas, such as in Lesotho, Africa! If I am traveling to your location, I usually recommend handling our preparatory stages remotely, such as requesting photos and measurements of your space for ideation and design, and then traveling to paint on location. Please note that you will be required to cover any travel costs incurred, which we will negotiate separately from the painting fee, such as travel time, mileage, airfare, lodging and meal & incidental expenses.

Alternatively, I can also paint your mural on canvas in my studio; and then I will ship it directly to you! Canvas murals are installed just like wallpaper – it’s amazingly easy! I can also help you find a local installer/wallpaper hanger to install your mural.

I enjoy working across a range of styles and subject matters, and I love collaborating with clients to bring their unique creative visions to life, even if it requires me stepping out of my comfort zone and/or flexing my creative muscles! In general, as you'll see through exploring my portfolio, I love bright colors, clean designs, and bold compositions.

Please note: I will firmly reject any requests to create artwork or signage which I determine to be abusive or threatening, or that expresses prejudice on the basis of ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or similar grounds.

Most of my work is done using high-quality acrylic paints designed to last many years. I am a Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore registered pro, and also use high quality artist acrylics when applicable. Glass, metal, and other surfaces require special paints and coatings, and some projects also require a clear coat or anti-graffiti coating, such as in direct sunlight or high humidity spaces.

Yes, I am covered with general business liability insurance and am happy to provide my COI upon request.
